Atmospheric isolation can be done in four ways:
- Isolate in a sealed container like a flask, test tube, jar or tank
- Isolate in a stream of moving gas with a laminar bench, clean room or inert welding gun
- Isolate in an access enclosure like a pressurized bag, glove bag or glove box
- Isolate in a mechanically managed work zone that includes the user, like a sterile prep area
