Atmospheric isolation can be done in four ways:

  • Isolate in a sealed container like a flask, test tube, jar or tank
  • Isolate in a stream of moving gas with a laminar bench, clean room or inert welding gun
  • Isolate in an access enclosure like a pressurized bag, glove bag or glove box
  • Isolate in a mechanically managed work zone that includes the user, like a sterile prep area
